17 COMPANIES RECEIVE ARIZONA ADVANTAGE AWARDS

Business owners who came from as far away as Israel were recognized Thursday October 6 for bringing their companies to Arizona, creating new high-value jobs from Kingman to San Manuel.  The Arizona Advantage Awards paid tribute to 17 companies that have expanded or located across the state since April.  Over the next three years, these companies plan to create more than 2,700 jobs and make total capital investments valued in excess of $240 million.

Arizona Department of Commerce Director Gilbert Jimenez says the awards highlight the collaboration that makes this business growth possible. “Economic development requires teamwork at all levels to assist communities in building their capacity to attract good jobs, as well as teamwork at all levels of leadership – starting with the state,” said Jimenez. “Governor Janet Napolitano champions a comprehensive approach to keeping, attracting and growing good jobs. Our ability to be a contender in the global marketplace requires elected officials at all levels to support ongoing economic development efforts.”
