VPN Site Failover

FatPipe MPVPN can be configured to provide failover of VPN tunnels from one site to another. Companies with disaster recovery sites will find this feature useful. VPN site failover ensures that your site-to-site VPN stays connected even during a disaster recovery failover. Initially, all branch networks are connected to the Data Center site using FatPipe VPN and MPSec. But in case of a DC failure, the branch VPNs are automatically redirected to the FatPipe device at the DR site, which is located at another physical location. The key is it intelligently determines the connectivity status using MPSec and establishes VPN tunnels based on priority.

VPN Site Failover is the ultimate solution to ensure uninterrupted connectivity between branch networks and the DR site in case of a Data Center failure. VPN Site Failover can be configured only for VPN tunnels between Remote Networks, not Remote Users.

VPN Site Failover enhances network resilience by dynamically monitoring connectivity between locations and ensuring seamless transitions in case of disruptions. At branch offices, VPN tunnels are assigned priority levels within a designated failover group. The system first connects to the highest-priority site, and if that connection fails, it automatically shifts to the next available Disaster Recovery site.
  • Disruption in Connectivity Between Data Centre and the DR Site: VPN site failover provides seamless connectivity between DC and DR with subsecond failover and ensures that Voice , Video and Data sessions are not disconnected on line switchover.
